Change We can create Film Fest

In New Orleans, discourse on social issues such as increasing crime rates, poverty and inadequate education seem to be perpetual.  Quite often, however, the answer to such societal concerns rest in a commonly agreed upon truth—if we want change, then we must invest in our youth.

This summer, in an effort to effect change in local teenagers while encourage them to do the same, 2-Cent Entertainment, Remedee and the New Orleans Recreation Department joined forces to present "Change We Can Create," a six-week film production camp that allowed teenagers to gain film production experience while creating video diaries on pressing social issues.

On Friday, September 19, 2009, 2-Cent will host its inaugural Change We Can Create Film Fest to showcase the thirteen youth produced video diaries that resulted from the summer camp.

You are cordially invited to attend this event, as we believe your presence and continued support of our community and youth will help reinforce the fact that we can and will create change collectively.
