2-Cent Radio
2-Cent Radio gives a chance for young black adults to come together and discuss major issues within our society. 2-Cent members as well as WBOK 1230 am listeners have a chance to speak up and give their 2-Cent regarding definite topics such as Sex, Love, Education, Drugs and Violence, which all are vital issues within the black community in New Orleans, La.
2-Cent started a few years ago by a couple of college students, who were tired of the Media portraying black people negatively in society. 2-Cent's goal was to change the negative concept and construct an optimistic scheme for young black adults, to come together and address the negative issues using the media. 2-Cent has dominated the Internet, Television and now has reached the airwaves.
2-Cent radio features four co-host, who express their thoughts and opinions on topics that are essential and sufficient for listeners to know and speak up upon. Topics are controversial and contentious, which keeps the listeners calling and eager to listen. All 2-Cent members are featured within different occurrences on the show and get to talk about their opinions on certain topics. There are also opportunities where external sources, will be invited as an interview on the show, and to discuss specific topics.
The goal for 2-Cent Radio is to Talk, Entertain, and Educate. 2-Cent speaks up powerfully; so that everyone can comprehend and grasp imperative information.
2-Cent entertains the universal interest of the public to keep minds active and vigorous; and last but not least: educate and enlighten the community and our society on critical topics that are not often spoke up on or heard of
